Kopbeenskloof is your single destination for multiple recreational requirements (or, if you prefer, your exertion needs):

    •  to explore and discover
    • to listen, look and learn
    • to push yourself to an edge
    • to celebrate and remember
    • to relax and unwind
    • for investing in relationships and finding yourself again

… and it is closer than you think!

Located at the southern entrance to the Karoo, adjacent to the Klein-Karoo — a mere 130 km’s from the Huguenot Tunnel, north of the Peninsula — you’ll find all of your needs being met with the famed hospitality of inhabitants in this scrubland region.

Travel here when you need to escape from the rat race in the city.  Just be adventurous again and pack your mountain bike, fishing tackle, hiking boots or running shoes to come and enjoy the crisp mountain air.  It’s also ideal to test your off-road 4×4 skills at any level (five star inclusive) that you may choose.  Or just get rejuvenated again by clear star-lit skies (the farm is in the same climatic belt as Sutherland’s telescopes). Enjoy the vistas over the undulating countryside below, or even spend hardly any physical effort with relaxed reading by a cosy fireplace which you keep going with a log every once in a while.

As a working farm your destination is geared for environmental or educational groups, parent and child camps (any camps for that matter), corporate team building, to celebrate with a birthday bash or that perfect setting for a countryside wedding.  The accommodation facilities range from comfort to rustic, or even basic if you really want to rough it!

Owners Wouter and Elsabé Stemmet put out the welcome mat at their warm and homely farm style surroundings which is savoured by every visitor.  You’ll love the tranquillity and quietness at Kopbeenskloof (an Afrikaans name meaning ravine of the skull)! The elevation is somewhat higher than that of Table Mountain.

Choose your season to enjoy your activity — or do two or more, who’s counting? — knowing that your needs are cared for.  Nature provides the occasional snowfall, clear skies with burning sunsets over Matroosberg, fauna and flora that brings the Cape and Karoo together, the serenity of being close to creation and more.  Kopbeenskloof offers the rest through facilities and activities for you to fully enjoy this natural environment. And you’ll find yourself returning for more … or simply because you love the proximity of the Karoo!
